Science is something which needs to be understood and controlled by society. Science can bring society great benefits but also great problems and fail to provide the deepest truths. When it comes to medical science, individuals need to understand much more of what is known about nutrition and health issues.
Medical science, in particular, has reached a stage where some diseases such as cancer and other diseases can be greatly influenced by the use of nutrients proven by hard science to work with the body in defeating the disease. The navigation bar (left column) provides many cancer science references which overview understandable science findings and which are worth understanding and which are easily understood by the layperson.

A number of specific nutrients are proven by a wealth of science to strongly address key cancer vulnerabilities. It is also very important to understand that there is also a wealth of science that indicates that specific nutrients (such as CoQ10) are needed to work with cardiovascular drugs to make them much safer and more effective.

Nobel prize winning scientist/physicist B. Laughlin has said; "--it is necessary in science to take stock every now and then and reevaluate what one deeply understands and what one does not." We highly recommend his book; "A Different Universe, Reinventing Physics from the Bottom Down." If basic physics needs reinventing, what about medical science?
Fundamental medical science research, especially in nutrient effectson cancer and some cancer treatments, has moved far beyond what is usually available in the cancer clinic if the patient does not have an understanding of cancer and take substantial initiative and get better medical science and nutrition control applied to their disease. We strongly recommend the book; "Beating Cancer with Nutrition" by Dr. P.Quillin a former VP at Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
Essentially, the same type of misunderstanding of science is being applied to cardiovascular problems. We also strongly recommend the book; "The Doctor's Heart Cure" by Al Sears M.D. We also strongly recommend the book; "Reverse Heart Disease Now: Stop Deadly Cardiovascular Plaque Before It's Too Late" written by two Cardiovascular Medical Doctors. The book is far more than just about atherosclerosis. If you have heart disease, this book is also about treatment and can save your life.
The truth is that the latest science can also be underused as we believe is especially the case with cancer science. In cancer science, the truth is that if the latest science is used, there is real cause for optimism now. What the actual latest science shows is not always consistent with much of what the medical community would have us believe. The science points to the reality that nutrition against cancer also is very beneficial against most other major diseases as well.
Sadly, too often, bureaucratic inertia and legal concerns override the timely use of the latest medical science and the patients needs. The cancer researchers have made great progress in understanding cancer genesis, cancer prevention and much better cancer treatment. What is now known about cancer is, however, not being transferred rapidly enough to cancer treatment in the field. Obviously, cancer patients need the latest science now. Cancer does not wait for the treatments to filter through the bureaucracy. Yesterdays cancer treatments often do not meet the needs of cancer patients. The truth of a mountain of science is that cancer can be cured in a lot more cases, more than hope; now! There are a lot of scientific findings that can turn hope into reality.

Especially in medical science, one must be on guard against hidden assumptions. In the October 2004 issue of Scientific American, the article The Hidden Genetic Program of Complex Organisms on page 61, states "Assumptions can be dangerous, especially in science --Eventually, if the volume of troublesome information becomes unsustainable, the orthodoxy must collapse." We would add; the question is; how much damage to society is being done in the meantime by dangerous assumptions and unwarranted orthodoxy? Modern society does not need and may not be able to tolerate the damage being done by erroneous representation of and the misuse of science. Science is generally a good thing, but it is also open to misunderstanding (by the scientist themselves) and misuse.
From the April 2007 issue of Scientific American on page 24; "Today's cancer chemotherapy consists of little more than a dismal array of toxic drugs that kill healthy cells along with cancerous ones." We would argue that better cancer therapy is available if the patients understand the truth, take some lead, and search out better cancer doctors.
Cancer clinical trials are too slow and at the very least, and doctors need to use "off label" drug options to take advantage of what has been proven in one type of cancer to treat other types. Any cancer treatment proven in one type of cancer can be used in other types of cancer in the majority of states. As noted in the Scientific American article at the end, the idea of cancer being strictly organ defined does not represent the full truth about cancer. Patients and doctors need to understand that and cancer treatments need to reflect that. Get on the net, search for the cancer science at the NIH and read the conclusions about an array of cancer science that gives hope now.

We believe that this applies also to the medical establishment in the case of cancer treatment.

The question we all must answer is faith in whom: fallible and biased scientists, or God? Faith in science models of reality or the actual experience and truths of reality?

We again recommend reading the book; "A Different Universe, Reinventing Physics From The Bottom Down, by R. Laughlin, Nobel Prize physicist. Mr. Laughlin's book is enjoyable, easy to read at the top level and loaded with astounding and profound comments on science at the deepest level. This book is loaded with profound discussions of the realities of science. As an aide to reading the book, we found the following pages to contain some profound statements; 6-8, 13, 14, 15, 17-21, 26,40, 43, 52-56, 67, 74-78, 85-91, 96-97, 105-114, 116, 118, 120-127, 130-131, 150-151, 154, 166, 168, 170, 171, 173, 200, 208. Essentially what the book brings to the forefront is that even the basic underlying assumptions of physics are open to serious questions based on laboratory experiments of a very fundamental nature. Mr. Laughlin raises profound questions about reductionist thinking and is a believer in emergent properties (the whole is more than just the sum of the parts) as a key feature of reality.
