          CANCER CHEMOTHERAPY QUESTIONS:

Questions for Your Oncologist

1) What are my therapy options?

2) Are there less toxic therapies available at other sites?

3) What percentage of patients die from what you propose?

4) What percentage of patients live 5 years?  (Ask to see a document with the statistics on survival for those who are actually treated and those who receive no treatment.)

5) Can this chemo be given metronomic?  (This is a critical option to pursue.)

6) Can this chemo be given together with another agent at lower dose?

7) Can this chemo be given with some anti-angiogenesis agent?

8) Can this chemo combined with some form of nutrition?

9) Can I take unlimited vitamins during the chemo?

10) What vitamins can I not take during chemo?  Is there specific evidence of a problem?

11) How will you know if the chemo is working?

12)  Can you do a chemo sensitivity test to know whether or not it will work?  (It may be critical to note that the kind of tests which show whether or not a chemo agent will work are very similar to tests run and various nutrients which show that they do work typically to about at least a 30% level in killing or halting cancer (some are 40% and more) and if one then takes 10 nutrients each of which has a 30 efficacy and which work together at that level, the total in combination will fight cancer to a level of 97% if they are merely additive (not even synergistic) and we have not found any chemo agent which claims such an efficacy.  There is scientific evidence that certain nutrients are actually synergistic with chemo agents in fighting cancer so the result could be even better.)

13) Can the chemo be stopped at any time?

14) Can I decide to stop the chemo?

15) How will you decide when to stop the chemo?

16) Can I have an independent doctor decide when to stop the chemo?

17) What long term damage will I suffer from the chemo?

18) Can you write down exactly what you propose so I can take it for a second opinion?

19) How long can chemo be safely delayed (minimal risk) so I can try nutrition to strengthen my body?

20) Do you work with a nutritionist?

21) What is your nutrition philosophy; before, during, and after therapy?
