Immediate responses to Cancer Diagnosis.
1) Don't panic and jump into a traumatic, toxic, dangerous, or unproven therapy. (Alternative therapies are by definition not scientifically proven to be safe and effective.)
2) Call and talk to the Cancer Treatment Center helpers available by phone and e-mail. At least get a second opinion and second lab test from some second medical source.
3) Find out how much time you have to learn and make decisions. (Not all cancers require immediate or traumatic medical therapy. Cancer therapies can be bad in some cases in terms of long term survival and general health.)
4) Examine your lifestyle in detail and make anticancer changes immediately. (See our Cancer fighting list pages.)
5) Begin learning about the very high importance of nutrition in fighting cancer and how nutrition interacts with any proposed medical treatment. Nutrition is a much more important factor than appreciated by most doctors. (Not all studies show a benefit, but 128 of 156 studies of fruits and vegetables do for example and doctors relying on one or more of the minority will be misled.)
5) Read a book (by a scientist or doctor) about cancer and nutrition as applied to improve medical treatment efficacy and to reduce side effects and risks. (More information on these book can be found in the left column book list.)

6) Study the information on cancer in this site which is virtually all based on some science available on the internet. (Do not assume that sites selling products are scientifically accurate, but you use their claims as starting points for your own direct science research.)
