FIELD THEORY OF LIFE/INTELLIGENCE CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE;
We believe that there are very basic reasons to believe that it is probable that there is some form of guidance to evolution and that guidance is in the form of a field. It could be argued that the most important finding of science (quantum field mechanics) is that at the most basic level of reality, reality is essentially about fields and in fact there is no such thing as particles as most people would understand such. All of reality is fields/waves. (A new form of matter.) Quantum field theory.
The idea of fields being behind evolution is consistent with the basic understandings of the deepest levels of science/physics. Field concepts of reality are also inherently consistent with spiritual beliefs. Our belief and faith is that these fields are part of or some way emanates from God. This is not scientifically provable, but is consistent with the findings of science.
If someone thinks that postulating as yet undetected fields or other as yet not directly observed features of the universe is unscientific or at least not consistent with modern science practice, that would be a misunderstanding of how science progresses. Physicists routinely postulate such unknowns as possible explanations. One such postulate not observed directly in any way is the Higgs field (and now the little Higgs), what is by definition undetectable and another is Dark Matter (which supposedly resolves inconsistencies in the Big Band theory and galaxy formation.) There is also the postulate of the Quintessence of space (energy stored in vacuum of space), the extra dimensions of String Theory, and Gravity waves. All these fields/phenomena postulates are ways to understand what science observes, but they are still just proposed models. Science (physics) makes the assumption that these phenomena may exist, then sets out to try to detect them. The most basic law of physics (Quantum mechanics) is also loaded with paradox in the postulates of what quantum mechanics really tells us.
If one uses reasoning in biology similar to the postulations above, there is, in any case, an array of good evidence to believe that life and evolution is governed by fields/waves of some form (there is no scientific basis on which to assume that such is not the case just because such fields/waves have not yet been detected);
1) Convergent evolution (field resonances acting on somewhat different life forms.)
2) Pre adaptations (parts of field reach resonance before other parts.)
3) Coevolution (field resonant interactions.)
4) Decreasing evolution rate (life has mostly filled the field resonances.)
5) Symbiosis (field coupling.)
6) Protein folding resolution of Levinthal's paradox (filed interactions guide folding.)
7) Cambrian explosion (resonances locked in to certain forms.)
8) Ant hive behavior (Field interactions produce system level behavior.
9) Field concept compatible with most basic physics (quantum mechanics which is somewhat synonymous with wave mechanics.)
10) Avoidance of evolution being trapped in local optimums (a guiding field would avoid local evolution dead-ends.)
11) Instincts of newborns (the field provided the information.
12) Some microbes can survive massive doses of radiation (the field would reform simple structures once the radiation is removed.)
13) Synergistic selection. (Coupling of field components.)
14) The existence of parasites (inherent/unavoidable field nonlinear sidebands or overtones in the field coupled to the freedom inherent in the laws of physics (quantum mechanics.))
These ideas are nothing like a scientific explanation, of course, but science is supposed to be about investigating unsolved problems and the extreme improbabilities of Darwinian macroevolution certainly represents an unsolved problem in terms of an answer in terms of Newtonian physics. Modern physics at its basic levels is about fields and waves.
