Information for students on science, information and design.

We are all students learning throughout our lives,  Or at least we should be.

Your future is dependent on your learning.   Think critically for yourself, while learning from others you can trust.

Thinking like a scientist made easy.

Fun Science Links.

Truth, Knowledge and Belief.

Science does not provide absolute truth. Albert Einstein said" The truth of a theory can never be proven, for one never knows if future experience will contradict its conclusions.”Albert Einstein did not believe in science providing unquestionable truth. We should all also question present day scientific interpretations (interpretations are not the same as hard science facts) if interpretations/theories are presented as anything like unquestionable truth. Unless science is about a specific/repeatable laboratory test, it should be open to question. Science beyond the laboratory is about models of reality. Science is very important and useful, but science can also be dangerous to society if misrepresented or misused.

How to think critically by spotting fallacies.

Don't Believe Everything You Think: The 6 Basic Mistakes We Make in Thinking

As a student, now and in the future, do not be afraid to question the interpretations of the facts of science. Science theories is far less absolute than most people realize, and bad science can be a hazard to the entire world.

Spotting bad thinking/teaching.

Questioning to learn.

The web does not eliminate the need for good reasoning. (Almost all sites are biased. This site is openly biased in looking at science from a faith perspective. Many science sites, in contrast, do not expose their bias. This is especially true of atheistic sites.)

Whenever you read or are told something, even in science, think about the writer's or speakers hidden biases. There will always be self interests involved and even worse in some cases, business or personal profit above the interests of society. Sometimes you will even find some science finding represented by some person in its meaning as the opposite of what its meaning really is.

The universe and even the world right around you is full of things science cannot explain:

Can science fully explain the existence of galaxies? Click on the galaxy picture for the answer.

What is wrong with the figure below of DNA? How is the title in error?

The reality is that the above figure from a government science site is very misleading. The truth is that DNA does not replicate itself.  Molecular machines (made with the information in DNA) replicate DNA!  Click here for a basic paradox of biology about DNA.   The truth about DNA.

Issues not addressed by Macroevolution theory (only small step microevolution is proven.

FUTING EVOLUTION (MACRO), A HANDBOOK FOR STUDENTS, PARENTS, AND TEACHERS.

DARWINIST "EXPLANATIONS" OFTEN RAISE AS MANY QUESTIONS AS THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO ANSWER.          REGULATORY GENES IN GENERAL ARE BEING TOUTED BY SOME AS EXPLAINING THE CAMBRIAN EXPLOSION OF LIFE FORMS which is, if true, just another of the many problems for Darwinian macro (bridging discontinuities between life forms) evolution theory. Such an explosion does not fit gradual evolution as required by Darwinian theory. More complex gene functions (such as regulatory genes) also makes it more improbable that they could have evolved simply by Darwinian evolution. Darwinian evolution is a theory which fits something analogous to building a structure by simply adding more different kinds of bricks (proteins.) The Darwinian model of evolution does provide an explanation for genes with regulatory or multiple functions as is the case in reality at every level of life down to the level of cells.

HOW COULD THAT HAVE EVOLVED?

A REAL MICROSCOPIC "BEAR?"    (ALMOST EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK IN THE WORLD, THERE ARE DESIGNS IN LIFE THAT ARE AMAZING.) THE WORLD IS LITERALLY COVERED WITH LIFE. and all life is extremely improbable.

Easy-to-Read and Interesting Books

"Beyond Natural Selection" by Robert Wesson is a very interesting book to begin understanding just how interesting and easy to understand some science can be. While not the authors overt intent (it is likely he would have feared for his job if he overtly questioned evolution), this book clearly shows that Darwinian evolution cannot, based on hard facts, begin to explain even a small portion of the incredible complexity and organization of life.

"What's Darwin Got to Do with it?" by Newman & Wiester is an excellent book for younger (junior high school) students. This book is written like a cartoon and the discussion shows how what sounds like good reasoning, on the surface, can in fact be very misleading. Written for high school level youth.

"The Cartoon Guide to Genetics" by Gonick & Wheelis is an excellent book for senior level high school students and above who can understand that science can be very interesting and the truth of science sometimes quite surprising. This book shows how much more complex genetics is than Darwinian evolutionists would have you believe. (The more complex it is, the less likely it is that Darwinian evolution has all the answers to life's complexities.)
