LINEAR REDUCTIONISM, NONLINEAR LIFE/EVOLUTION; It is ironic that a Darwinist who believes that evolution proceeds by the simple addition of or modification to a single protein would never believe that one can simple add a pair of nonfunctional legs to a Drosophila fly and improve the survivability of the fly. (Scientists have exposed flies to all sorts of environmental extremes such as radiation and all they have ever gotten are deformed and less functional flies. They just get added non functional legs and misplaced legs, etc.) It is a simple truth that the functionality of a pair of legs is in their relationship to the whole. The same basic idea is true of changes in proteins which occur when the genome is mutated. Unless those changes are integrated in their entire function and relationship to the whole life form, they will be nonfunctional and at best a hindrance to survivability at best and probably fatal in most cases. The Darwinist essentially believes in linear reductionism which is the simple addition and subtraction of parts. The reality is that life is not that simple. Life depends on non linear relationships and reductionism fails in such cases. The whole is much more than the simple sum of the parts. Even the relatively pure science of mathematics falls short in using reductionism; Randomness in Arithmetic and the Decline & Fall of Reductionism in Pure Mathematics "Integrative Science”: The Death-Knell of Scientific Materialism?
