Religious
belief of the authors of this site: We acknowledges that we have a Christian faith and
that we believe that the core and basic essence of such a faith is not in conflict
with any truth of science
in the slightest. We
further believes that by definition, real science could not be in conflict with
a valid belief in and a proper understanding of the basic nature of God. Atheistic scientists generally portray any scientist who believes in God as being unable to see the truth of science. If such an illogical position is held by atheists, the logical extension and equally valid argument on the other side would be that any atheistic scientists must then be unable to see the truth of science if it indicates the probable existence of God. Our position is that the facts of science should speak for themselves and any interpretation of the facts is not hard science by definition and ultimately both the theistic and atheistic interpretations should be openly and honestly available with the bias of the interpreter made clear to the reader. Despite our belief in the God of the Bible, this site will not go into any detailed argument about the relationship of the Bible to science. There are many excellent web pages defending Biblical beliefs using some level of science. We believe that such sites offer many good insights for Christians and those who wish to understand the relationship of Christianity to science. We have included links to some of the sites which do a good job of relating science to faith in general and have tried to always clearly note those links as Christian sites by gray highlighting. We do not believe that sites which simply examine the relationship of God to science (not raising any particular religions dogma) need to be specially noted as such as long as they do not propound a specific belief/religion. We do believe, however, that efforts by some scientists which try to inject a lot of science into a specific Christian or other faith is likely to eventually become, at least to some extent, counterproductive because the truths of science are so complex. Biblically based arguments will always to some degree be beyond science and open to being twisted and misrepresented by atheists. This does not reflect anything negative about the intent of those bringing an element of science to their Biblical belief in God. There are very worthwhile websites which concentrate on the evidence for God. One such site has reasons to believe (the author is a Christian.) The intent of this site, in any
case, is to indirectly support
a belief in God by making the limitations of science more open and generally known
and also to bring out some of the dangers and misuses of science even where it does not directly
relate to a belief in God. Even where science findings relate to some belief about God, we agree with mathematician M. Gardner who says in his book; The Ambidextrous Universe on page 125; "that I find something profoundly impious, almost blasphemous, about setting limits of any sort on the power of God to bring about things in any manner He chooses. If God creates a world of particles and waves, dancing in obedience to mathematical and physical laws, who are we to say that He cannot make use of those laws to cover the surface of a small planet with living creatures?" We would add, who are we to say to what degree and how often God may modify His creation to get it back on plan? In any case, for almost any belief in God, the full truth of God as an infinite being of some sort is inherently above not only man's limited thinking which includes the field of science and will, therefore, always remain that way be definition. Science in truth is relatively feeble and will always be so for many reasons including the fallible intellect of all of us humans. We recommending reading the book; "The Case For A Creator" by L. Strobel (a Christian) which contains a wide range of scientific references.Science cannot provide all the answers. Why so many scientists believe in God. Does God Exist? Question of life. (Includes science facts.) |
