Question;  Is a belief in God refuted or deemed improbable by science?

The answer is a resounding no, a belief in God is not refuted in any way by hard science. The only science that is absolutely factual and hard evidence is that which can be done repeatedly in the laboratory.   The answer to the question of the impact of science on a belief in God is simply that since science cannot test God or a belief in God in the laboratory, it cannot directly address the possible reality underpinning such a belief.   What many scientists see in interpreting the facts of science, however, is a beauty, balance, and harmony a universe designed in a way which seems to point to God.

The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief.   The subject book is written by a Ph. D. scientists who has played a leading role in analyzing human DNA.  Note; we do not agree with his belief that Darwinism is the major explanation/sufficient to explain life.  The book is worth reading in any case, however, as an example of how an atheistic scientists came through reason to believe in God.  Link here for other scientists views on the limits of science and God.

Note; we believe that Darwinian evolution is very limited, tells only a small part of the story of how life has changed over time to fit the changing environment, and the hard science facts in no way refute a belief in and a need for God even in the origin of or deep complexities of life.  We do believe that God could has used Darwinism to some degree but that there is no scientific possibility of ever proving that Darwinism is the only factor at work in the evolution of life.

The reality is that science has, in fact, reached a point which indicates that the existence of God is probable or one is forced otherwise to believe in a number of extreme improbabilities.  Surprisingly, science is coming up with such findings in the areas of physics, cosmology, and the life science at a fairly rapid rate which make it harder and harder to not believe in God.  God and Science.

Throughout this site, we quote top scientists who openly say that it is hard to look at the wonder and design of the universe and not believe in God.

Cosmos Bios and Theos which questions 60 leading scientists including 20 Nobel prize winners;  in the interview with Sir John Eccles, Nobel Prize winner with a Ph.D. in natural sciences, when questioned if he believed in a divine Creation said:  “Yes I do.  I have said that several times in my books.  And this is a creation.  You have to think of it as not just by a Creator who tosses off souls one after another.  This is a loving Creator giving us all these wonderful gifts.”

From the same book:  Interview with Professor Wolfgang Smith, Ph.D. in mathematics: “nothing is more evident, more certain , than the existence or reality of God”.    Again, these statements are not science and certainly not directly related to any proof of God.  The statements just show that a number of highly trained leading scientists do believe in God.
